These days, the price of gas continuously rises and still pick up trucks remain popular immensely to the American public. The reason here is because these vehicles are versatile and practical which get the job done. These vehicles are also cool. If there is one problem with a pick up truck, that would be the fact that their cargos might be left exposed and unsecured. Although that is not much an issue most of the time, there are still situations when they needed to be protected and so the things inside it be hidden away from the spying eyes of thieves. But where really does the term “tonneau” come from? Tonneaux is a French term for a square-bodied vehicle with a rear entrance. This term then was more generally used to describe the vehicle’s after part which has an entrance at the rear. Somehow, we came to call this cover for such opening “tonneau”. Some also call them truck bed covers or caps, but toneau cover makes lots of sense. they also come in different styles and types.
